Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference is coming this Monday. Here are my predictions for what will be announced.
UPDATE: well my predictions were not totally right. oh well.
iPhone
They will announce the iPhone 14. I will be about the same as the iPhone 13 but with a slightly better camera, marginally faster CPU, and a bit longer battery life.
Due to inflation they will also announce a new iPhone SE.
Additionally, I think the new phone will have under-the-screen TouchID. FaceID was great until wearing masks became a thing. Apple will probably switch back to TouchID because of this.
iPad
They will improve multitasking. “It’s totally a laptop replacement this time we swear!”
iOS/iPadOS
Apple will update messages, but group chats with Android users will still suck. Memoji will be improved and nobody will use them anyway. A surprise new feature that nobody cares about will be announced. They will also release a new API that promises to change the world but doesn’t actually do much.
RealityOS
NO! Its not happening. Apple is not going to make a VR/AR headset. These are the same people who failed to make a wireless charger. They simply do not have the innovative capacity to create a revolutionary device. This might have been possible when Steve Jobs was in charge, but Apple is a monopolistic shell of its former self. The only think keeping them in business is fanboys and the fact that Android sucks. Remember the last time they tried to do VR and they had Minecraft Earth at WWDC? Well Minecraft Earth failed. Apple can’t do VR.
Mac
There will be new Macs, Macbooks, and accessories. These will be absurdly expensive. Remember the $999 monitor stand and the $699 wheels with no brakes?
AppleCar/iCar/iMobile
LOL.
I will post an update after the event. Let’s see if I’m right.
